Your safari guide will pick you up early in the morning from your lodge or the airport and drive you to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey from Arusha takes approximately three hours. Once you reach the crater, descend to the floor for a game drive among its open grasslands, lakes and other habitats. Look for zebras, gazelles, wildebeest and a variety of birdlife. The crater is also one of the best places in Tanzania to look for the endangered black rhino, though sightings are not guaranteed. Enjoy your packed lunch during the day, then return to Arusha or transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your safari ends.
