Tour Plan
-
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, meet your safari representative and transfer to your lodge in Arusha. The drive takes about an hour. Once checked in, take time to relax after your journey and prepare for the safari ahead. If you arrive with time to spare, enjoy the lodge and its surroundings before the trip briefing. Breakfast is included today; lunch and dinner are not included. Drinks are not included. -
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, meet your guide and drive for approximately two and a half hours to Tarangire National Park. The route follows good tarmac roads before you enter a landscape of ancient baobab trees, open plains and riverine woodland. Spend the day on a game drive, looking for Tarangire’s elephant families, which often gather near the river, as well as giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests and other wildlife. Lions and leopards may also be seen. The park is especially rewarding for birdwatching, with a wide variety of species found across its different habitats. Enjoy lunch at a picnic site inside the park, then continue your game drive before travelling to your luxury lodge in the Karatu area. Dinner and an overnight stay are provided there. All meals are included today; drinks are not included. -
Day 3: Karatu to the Serengeti
After breakfast, drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the Serengeti. Stop to take in the view of Ngorongoro Crater before continuing to the park’s southern entrance. The landscape opens into the Serengeti’s broad grasslands, where wildlife moves in search of grazing and water. The Serengeti is home to resident wildlife throughout the year and is also the setting for the Great Migration. Herds move through different areas in different seasons, so your guide will plan the route and camp location according to the time of year. Continue into the park for wildlife viewing before settling into your luxury tented camp. Lunch, dinner and an overnight stay are included. Drinks are not included. -
Day 4: Full-day game drive in the Serengeti
Spend the day exploring the Serengeti on game drives. The route may take you through the Central Serengeti or toward another area if the migration is elsewhere. Look for impalas, buffalo, crocodiles and hippos, as well as predators such as lions, cheetahs and leopards. Enjoy lunch during the day, then continue your wildlife viewing through the afternoon. Return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay. All meals are included today; drinks are not included. -
Day 5: A second day exploring the Serengeti
Enjoy another day of game viewing, with the option of a more relaxed schedule. Set out for an early morning drive, return to camp for lunch and time to rest, then head out again in the late afternoon. Each drive offers a different chance to explore the plains and look for wildlife. Your guide will adapt the day’s route to current conditions and wildlife activity. Return to camp for dinner and your third overnight stay in the Serengeti. All meals are included today; drinks are not included. -
Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater and Karatu
After breakfast, leave the Serengeti and travel toward Ngorongoro Crater, enjoying wildlife viewing along the way. Descend into the crater for an afternoon game drive across its grasslands, woodlands and lakeshore. Look for wildebeest, zebras, gazelles and a wide variety of birds. The crater also offers a chance to look for black rhinos, though sightings are not guaranteed. After your time on the crater floor, drive to your luxury lodge in the Karatu area for dinner and an overnight stay. All meals are included today; drinks are not included. -
Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha or the airport
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park for your final game drive. The park combines a shallow lake, floodplain, evergreen forest and the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment. Look for elephants and baboons in the forest, and watch the lake for flamingos and other waterbirds when conditions bring them to the area. Tree-climbing lions are also associated with the park, though sightings are not guaranteed. After the game drive, continue to Arusha, Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport for your onward journey.
