Day 1: Tarangire National Park
Your guide will pick you up early from your lodge or the airport and drive you to Tarangire National Park. With a packed lunch for the day, set out on a game drive through seasonal swamps, open savannah and landscapes shaped by the Tarangire River. The park is known for its large elephant herds and distinctive baobab trees. Look for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras and wildebeest. Lions and leopards also live in the park, though sightings are never guaranteed. Enjoy your picnic lunch in the park, then continue exploring before driving to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Lunch and dinner are included today; breakfast is not. Drinking water is provided, while other drinks are not included. -
Day 2: Cultural visit to the Hadzabe and Datoga communities near Lake Eyasi
After breakfast, travel with your guide to Lake Eyasi to meet members of the Hadzabe community. Learn about their traditions and relationship with the surrounding environment. Depending on the community’s preference and daily activities, you may have an opportunity to accompany Hadzabe guides and learn about traditional hunting and gathering skills. Continue to meet Datoga community members and learn about their culture and blacksmithing traditions. Please ask before taking photographs. After the visit, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. All meals are included today. Drinking water is provided; other drinks are not included. -
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater and return to Arusha
After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the crater for a game drive. Explore the crater floor with a packed lunch, looking for buffalo, lions, elephants, zebras and other wildlife. Black rhinos also live in the crater, though sightings are not guaranteed. The area is also home to a variety of birds, including flamingos, eagles and buzzards. After the game drive, transfer to Arusha or the airport, where your safari ends. Breakfast and a packed lunch are included, along with drinking water; other drinks are not included.
